Buckingham Palace announced Wednesday that Princess Beatrice is expecting her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

“The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news,” the Palace said in a statement.

Beatrice, 32, married Mapelli Mozzi, 37, in a private ceremony on July 17, 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints on the grounds of Windsor Castle’s Royal Lodge.

The couple had planned to marry in the Chapel Royal of St. James Palace on May 29 of last year, but were forced to cancel due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Their July wedding followed the COVID-19 regulations of the British government and was attended by a small group of family and friends, including the bride’s grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Beatrice is the Queen’s eldest daughter, the eldest daughter of the Queen’s son, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York (aka Sarah Ferguson or “Fergie”).

Beatrice, the 10th in line to the British throne, works full-time at Afiniti, an artificial intelligence software company, as the vice president of partnerships and strategy.

He has a son named Christopher, nicknamed “Wolfie,” with his former partner, American architect Dara Huang, who was born in 2016.

According to the Palace, Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi’s child will be born “in autumn of this year,” The child will be the 11th in line to the throne of the United Kingdom.
