Homemade Boursin Cheese

Can Boursin Cheese Recipe be frozen and used later?

Yes. Especially during the Holidays or when I am making a bunch of recipes such as Father’s Day, Fourth of July, I make anything I can ahead of time. Boursin Cheese freezes really well I make it into square or a ball and par-freeze, then place the cheese in a freezer bag or use a food saver to preserve for a later date.

Can the cheese or herbs be adjusted or changed in this Cheese Spread Recipe?

Feel free to swap out herbs to your liking. I have added chervil, thyme, extra garlic. The recipe can be adjusted to your preferences. As for the cheese, I have used goat cheese in lieu of the cream cheese with success.

How long can Boursin Cheese be kept in the fridge?

Well covered, Homemade Boursin Cheese can be kept in the fridge about one week.

What is Boursin Cheese

Boursin Cheese is a soft, creamy cheese that works as a dip or a spread. It’s the perfect appetizer to serve with vegetables and crackers, or you can add it into salads, pastas, chicken recipes, or even bake with it. This herb-filled, flavorful homemade Boursin Cheese recipe goes well with just about everything! So whip some up and serve it at your next party.

What to Serve with Boursin Cheese

I’ve already gone on about how good this cheese is and the fact that it goes with EVERYTHING. There are seriously so many different uses for this soft, creamy cheese. Of course it works as a dip or spread, but that’s not where it ends.

This tastes so incredible on top of potatoes (baked potatoes, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes). It goes well with chicken recipes. Spread it on to crackers, crostini, or a bagel. Mix it into these tortilla cream cheese roll ups for some extra flavor, or add it to your pasta salad. Get as creative as you want with it!

How to Make Homemade Boursin Cheese

I love this cheese so much, and it tastes even better when it’s homemade. There are a lot of different herbs on the ingredients list, but overall the recipe is super simple. It’s really just a matter of mixing the cheeses and herbs together into a soft, creamy blend.

  • Gather your ingredients together.
  • Mix cheese, butter, and garlic (and other ingredients) together
  • Add in all of the herbs and continue mixing

That’s all! This delicious cheese is all ready in just a few minutes. It’s best served at room temperature. Pack the soft cheese into an airtight container to store in the refrigerator.
